Osram night breakers.... the booomb!!

While the car I had them in wasn't a daily driver, I had them last I'm sure over two years. If every two years I have to shell out a bit for that much better lighting it's worth it to me.

Thats the entire Lamp tho . That things not a drop in bulb it replaces your entire lense as well. They are cool and if they make a none 7" version that would fit in my standard susuki 6.5 on my GS i would buy one.

You mean HID, not LED. LEDs are not bright or powerful enough to use as headlight bulbs. I use them as my DRL on my car...tried them as fogs and the output was pathetic.

HID in non-projector housing are blinding as **** and spill the light everywhere.

Until this stems down from luxury cars, I wouldn't even think about LED...

This is a confusing statement, since no one with any sensibility should use HID's without a properly adjusted projector & housing.

Funny thing, my Dad's Volvo came with HID's stock and it does not have a projector in the housing. His assembly is a bit different from this but the left side is the same:

On a bike with the lean angles, Projectors work against you in the corners as the cut-off line will be right in your POV, making it more dangerous to you.

I guess no one with any sensibility would ride with no less then ATGATT?
I guess no one with any sensibility would put an aftermarket exhaust on their bike either. (That probably annoys more people off in a day then HID's)

We have all heard the No HID's unless you use a projector guys and they are the exact same as the ATGATT guys and the exact same as you start on a 600 you will die guys.

If you don't want it on your bike, don't do it, but a lot of people like them.

This is really cool... but can you imagine the replacement cost of that headlight ??

not only that, its only on luxury cars, for it to make it to bikes it would first have to be a standard feature on all cars which won't be for a while. Even then I doubt it would be incorporated into sport bikes, probably just Goldwings and big tourers...

OP, are these headlights more of a white light or yellow?

LED headlights have already started filtering down to more common vehicles. As an example the 2013 Accord Touring has LED headlights as standard. I do agree that it will be awhile before they make it onto bikes from the factory.

Steep price though. A complete 7" unit for my bike is $500, too rich for my blood. I could justify $250, hopefully in a year or two the price comes down.

The prices are already coming down pretty quickly. I don't expect the ones at the dealership to get much cheaper, but other variants are starting to drop in price pretty steadily. Check out J.W.Speaker, they've got some really nice stuff that I've seen and installed in person, good support/warranty as well.
