I question the long-term effects of these products. There were some MLM brands a number of years ago that were being pushed.
IIRC you had to wash the vehicle first and then apply the stuff, possibly several coats. Then when your vehicle got dirty you used the spray and wipe stuff.
My non-chemical engineered mind says it's a wax emulsion. I also think dislodging lumps of caked on dirt will leave nano scratches that will expedite the need for a $100,00 paint job on your Duesenberg if you want the blue ribbon at Pebble Beach.

You're correct about the emulsification.
The trick here is how you wipe the solution off the paint. A quality microfibre cloth seems to be 50% of the art of waterless wash, and making sure you roll the cloth as you wipe so there's always a clean part that contacts the paint and lifts off the dirt.

OP has limited access to water, wouldn't waterless be a better solution (pun intended) for him than no-rinse, which you have to dilute it in a bucket of water anyway?

I don't spend a lot of time washing vehicles. It's a good idea to do a decent job occasionally and especially leading up to a trip. It's a great opportunity for a detailed inspection and looking for cracks/leaks/loose fasteners. Thankfully, access to water isn't normally an issue so I don't have to resort to sprays normally.
I guess it depends on if you consider it a chore or actually like doing it.
I like doing it (both bike and car), I find it relaxing but I have to be in the mood for it. I'm definitely not gonna wash the bike right after coming home from a long ride. Too tired, I just wanna rest. The bike will sit dirty for a day or two until I feel like doing it.
