Some members of the Estern Shield Division of the CVMG
put together a ride from Tweed to Wheeler's Pancake House.
I said I would meet up in Maberly.
I departed from Bath at 10:30.
Bright sunny skies. light wind and 6 degrees.
had the liners in my jacket & pants plus winter gloves.
I also had my lined winter boots with 2 pair of socks so the ride was warm.
Since the other 3 members where riding vintage bike I just cruised along at 90kph
so as to not to get to the meeting point too soon.
Although they had further to travel they beat me to Maberly by a few minutes.
We traveled north on CR36 and pulled of on Kingston Line/Highland Line to come in from the west.
Kingston line was rutted wash board with loose gravel.
Highland line (west) was hard pack and easier to ride.
I normally come in from the east on Highland Line that is paved.
By the time we left Wheeler's Pancake House it was up to about 13 degrees.
Although the forecast was for wind gusting to 40kph It stayed reasonably calm until I crossed the 401 heading south.
Having to look thru a face shield, shadows across the road from the sun low on the horizon and leaves on the pavement
I was a little more cautious in the corners.
I made it home before the School busses came out in force.
