Went on a long 500 k loop to Grand Bend today - not all that scenic but what a gorgeous day. Just nice to be out
26 degrees all afternoon, Grand Bend was crowded and one Harley rider was riding shirtless along the lake.

So who went where yesterday ....one of the best riding days of the year???

I finally went...out on the road! The Burger lives! I finally managed to reassemble the final drive with the new gasket. Dry as a bone, no leaks.

Rode around the neighborhood mostly, testing out the new throttle rocker. It's barely noticeable in use, which is good. Dropped off at a local service station on the way back. The fuel gauge indicated full, but the trip meter was just under 200 km (reset after last fill up). Topped the tank up: 4 liters! 2L/100 km? That's pretty amazing, if correct.

Couldn't ask for better weather, really.

and the perfect time to do it at end of season.

The fuel guage on the 650 tends to lie - I'll get 200k on the clock and have 3 bars but then it drops rapidly but 50km per ltr is pretty extreme.

I can nurse the 650 to 24 km per litre or so.

Throttle rockers are terrific.....the Kaoka works a charm too if you are going on longer tours.
Glad I had it today but it was one of the easiest 500k runs ever - sun, wind and company was a good mix.
Having the Scala to chat made the rather boring scenery in Western S Ontario go by easily.

Just got back from a run up to HV Rd. The mileage was a bit more realistic, about 4.5 L/100 km. Two "bars" disappeared, so it's working. It's possible that the 650 is really efficient at commuting speeds (<80 km/hr).

No aches or pains after 3 hours, so I'm a happy rider. ABSOLUTELY perfect weather today. Autumn light is the best, not to mention some of the foliage was fluorescent.

A friend and I headed up to Sutton and picked up one of his friends then rode around and stopped at Cedar Beach. Such a great ride. Left at 9am and got back around 4pm.
