A 40 year old Oakville man is now hospitalized and in serious condition resulting from a Saturday afternoon (Aug 20/11) collision in Burlington.

Halton Police Collision Reconstruction Unit were contacted and requested to attend and assist with a serious collision involving a motorcycle and car on Snake Road in Burlington.

The collision occurred shortly before 3:00PM when the northbound Kawasaki 750 motorcycle operated by a 40yr old Oakville man lost control on a curve and transitioned from an upright position to sliding on its side. The motorcycle and rider slide from the northbound lane into the southbound lane and subsequently into the path of an oncoming car.

The motorcycle and rider struck the front left corner of the car and came to final rest on Snake Road.

The motorcycle driver was initially transported to Joseph Brant Hospital and later transferred to a Hamilton Hospital with numerous serious injuries. The female driver and passenger of the car were uninjured in the collision.

Alcohol was not a factor in this collision, however speed and loss of control on the part of the motorcycle is suspected to have contributed.

The investigation has been taken over and is continuing by Halton Police Collision Reconstruction Unit. Anyone with information about this collision is asked to contact D/Cst McDougall at 905-825-4747 ext 5142.

Quite an entertaining description by the writer. It is refreshing to see actual events reported as opposed to just automatically blaming the rider. GWS rider.

That's why I like reading Police reports rather than news articles whenever possible (this is a report from Halton Police). All facts and no bias.
