What's up GTAM newbs,

I am planning on heading out of the city towards the Hamilton/Burlington area on Sunday while the weather is supposed to be nice. I live downtown and it would be cool to ride with some other people (newbs or otherwise). I kind of want to see what Snake Road is like and generally ride in areas that don't have traffic lights every 0.5km. Is anyone else in? If so, we'll set a meeting place Friday/Saturday for Sunday morning.

count me in, just give me an idea of what time i can meet in burlington. i love snake road! i know a pretty good route in around waterdown/dundas that includes snake rd, old ancaster rd and mineral springs rd. highest posted speed is 70-80 and the route takes an hourish. pretty simple route.
now this is starting in waterdown and taking snake rd both at the beginning and at the end. if meeting in burlington you can take waterdown rd up to waterdown than down snake road and at the end of the rout go up snake road then down waterdown back to lakeshore.

just looking at some other nearby roads i might change it slightly to make the route a bit longer but keep those 3 roads included.

Damn, that's a nice route!

I don't have anything planned for that day, so I'd be up for it. I can see if my two buddies would be up for it too.

Awesome sauce guys! I'll confirm with you guys tomorrow morning in case other people post. DO you guys know of any good spots to meet around Burlington? I've never been there before.

Jon

No specific time yet. I'm shooting for mid/late morning into the early afternoon. Any thoughts from the other guys??

great idea. I'll check tomorrow to see if I can grab a couple buddies as well. this is our first riding season also.

Why don't we all meet at the Timmies off of Brant St. at around 12pm? DSqunitz, we can take whatever awesome route you might come up with :). The one you had proposed above looked pretty cool.

Well I may or may not be there celebrating a friends bday which might get a little messy haha. I'm going to try to make it tho. I'll be on a blue katana 600

Sounds good DSquintz; I'll be on a red Kawi 250R.

For all the others on here; I propose the following Timmies at 12pm. Apparently there are like 4 of them within one kilometre:

Tim Hortons
1220 Brant St
Burlington ON, L7P 1X8

This sounds good although I can't make it this time. Maybe we can do this on a somewhat regular basis? I live in Oakville and am just starting off as well. Don't know a lot of people with bikes in my area. Also got a red kawi 250r :).

Damn that would be awesome although I'm leaving Toronto for like 2 months; coming back in September. No reason there shouldn't be a newbie group ride thread though haha.

I'd love to do a newbie group ride in the future, I just got my bike today, and my training course is next weekend, so probably not a good idea to bring it out yet.

However maybe a ride in the next few weeks?

Hope this is considered "hijacking a thread". But, are there any newbie (Hamilton-area) riders who ride *early* Sunday mornings? I like heading out around 8, or earlier. Predominantly country road riding preferred; nothing over 80 kmh :)

Assuming I wake up on time, I should be there.

You can admire my "Blue" ZZR 250. And by "Blue" I mean it's purple..ish.
