.....might just have to upgrade from the 1100. Smaller shell, lighter, better airflow, improved face shield and base plate, EQRS system from X12. The best detail.....there will be a Transitions face shield (according to Brian Van from STG).

yep! definitely an upgrade to the 1100, I like the smaller shape and that fact that it came with the pinlock visor AND SHIELD!!

I am thinking to sell the 1100 and upgrade to this as well, with the GT Air as my primary helmet, this as the passenger helmet.

The transition photochromic shield is going to cost $150 (US price), so if anyone is interested in RF1200 together with this great shield, you need to factor in the price together. Cuz I can tell you with the added cost, you have other helmet options that might be better.

1100 was an upgrade over 1000, 1200 is an upgrade over 1100, etc etc. I heard of people collecting stuff, but haven't seen many collecting helmets... yet.

OMG its sexy!

I just ordered my rf1100 from GP lastweek. Crap I should send it back and grab myself a 1200 LOL

damnit. just bought my rf1100 for a crazy deal a month ago. atleast i can have that as my beater helmet. and grab this. i really like how shoei fits my head. i have to try on an arai.

Was looking to retire my 1100. Hope they have some decent graphics this time.

Wait a second! In another thread you said the RF-1200 "is so damn ugly" and "not my cup of tea".

Which is it?

Do you think one would be able to get their hands on a rf1200 at the international motorcycle show?

btw are there usually any good vendors at these shows? Iv never got into the motorcycle scene until recently.

Try both on, see which one is more comfortable and shapes your head better.

I've tried the RPHA 10 already, and if the RF1200 is anything like its predecessor then yeah for sure i'll have a hard time choosing.

Webikeworld has a review up already on their site. Their one big complaint was wind noise, the reviewer was very surprised at how loud it was. I have a rf 1100 now and cannot stand the wind noise and whistles it generates.

How does your RF1100 compare to your XR1R Carbon?

Yeah I said that when when I was comparing with the Shoei GT Air, hehe.

But this thread is more about 1100 and 1200 series.

When is this helmet going on sale?

Xr1r is a great helmet and extremely light as I have the Carbon edition. Its comfortable and very easy on the neck. My one complaint is the fit and finish leaves a bit to be desired. Also the shield mechanism is a pain as it is a manual screw that needs to be removed so switching from a clear to a tinted screen is tedious.

I have the same exact helmet and colour scheme. I wanted to know if its leagues above the RF1100.

But yes, I agree on your points. There are some parts of the helmet that feel cheap and the shield mechanism is horrible. Apparently they have a kit where you can convert it for a quick release, but meh. The helmet still looks badass though...and it's feathery light!

Since the GT-Air isn't Snell certified does that mean it can't be used at a track?

I have an RF-1100 and will probably upgrade over the winter... not sure which, RF-1200 or GT-Air.
