New Rider. Where in the GTA to buy and have an exhaust installed?

Best price I have seen for my bike (shipping included) is at extremesupply.com -- installing a slip-on is easy to DIY.

Yeah, no point in learning how to ride it well first, make it loud!

Fringes...fringes too!!!

You guys are harsh. Loud pipes save lives ya'know...

Sure. I suppose if you are blasting your noisemakers backwards behind you the passengers in vehicles to your rear will become aware of your presence. Of course vehicles approaching you from ahead or being overtaken by you that are still ahead won't hear you due to the directional nature of the pipe.

and you'll be killed by some irate home owner in Belfountain throwing a brick your way.

Harsh indeed.

Maybe the current pipe is damaged, or just doesn't look great to the OP.

I much prefer to look of a CF R77 on a ZX14 over the long stainless stock pipes.

Not like a slip-on adds much (any?) power.

As for noise -- to each his own.

Personally I strongly recommend against D&D -- obnoxious. Neighbours will not be happy and may lead to the wrong kind of attention from the local constabulary.

But a number of slip-ons are available with silencers (like the R77) that make them more tolerable.

LOL ok take er easy. I'm taking the learning curves course this weekend, I wear all the gear, and yeah I'm learning. But hell cant I have a little fun with my new toy? I find with my cars that when I buy them I notice things right away that I want to do, however I just spent a whack on a car and think to putting the mods off. Then when I actually get around to it I kick myself in the *** because I didn't do it sooner. And I am inquiring on where do get parts etc, I can find you anything for an Audi and a fantastic mechanic in the GTA, but I have no clue when it comes to bike upgrades and mechanics.

Not judgmental, practical. A new rider is way more likely to drop a bike in the first few months, why mangle an expensive aftermarket pipe?

Except they have been proven not to, and there is now a spike of bikes getting hit by emergency vehicles because they can't hear them. I'd like to write more but, BBBBBRRRTRAAAAPPPPP...BRAAAAAAPPPPPP..

Give Tony from http://bluestreakracing.ca a call (his site sucks). Great prices, lots of selection. A slip on exhaust is super easy to install, do it yourself or with the help of a friend with tools. Update your gtam profile with your location.

Slipons will give you a little more noise, a different look, but no power increase. most of them actually restrict power.

If they do give more power, you will have to rejet the carbs to avoid running too lean. Any pipe seller that says it will increase power without rejetting on a carb bike is lying.

Aftermarket pipes are good to save weight, gain some power, perhaps cornering clearance, but they have to be matched with proper jetting.

Picked up a 2006 SV650. Wondering where in the GTA to buy a slip on exhaust. Thanks

I would avoid GTA retail for this, you will pay 30-50 percent over on-line.
Installation is often two bolts , after cutting the header with a sawzall or cutting wheel. If you can make cereal with milk, you can do this.
