My new AGV k7 is too tight. F9 sells different size cheekpads, with varying thickness. What thickness to choose?

At $73 for cheekpads, I'm be trying to come up with other options. Step one, pull the cheekpads you have and make sure the helmet fit is ok. Step two, do your old cheekpads fit? How thick are current cheek pads? Can I park the bike on the cheekpads for a bit to get them to relax?
The K7 is the replacement for the AGV tourmodular that i was reimbursed for under warranty. Every lid i have ever owned has been a medium. I'm sure thinner cheekpads is the answer, just don't know which ones. F9 has a very big range of replacements.

Check the size that's marked on the current ones, measure them to see if that number is accurate, then squish them under a couple of heavy books or a clamp for a couple of hours. Re-measure the squished size, then give them a try before they rebound to see if the squished size is in the right ballpark.
If the plastic backing of the pads has holes, you can also snip away and pull out some of the foam from the back with long narrow scissors. I do this with mine to relieve a sharp pressure point on my ears from the model that I wear.

Hmmm dont AGVs usually come in 2 Medium sizes? Maybe that's model dependent.
Maybe wear the helmet on some rides for a week or two before spending the cash to change out any liner parts. The heat and sweat will flatten those cheek pads very quickly.
I always buy new helmets tight on the cheeks. By the middle of the season, they are perfectly broken in.

Mine always fit tight at first too. This was the first time i bought a helmet without trying it on. And there has been a few. Lol
Helmet shopping gives me a nightmare now. I have 3 helmets and 1 bike lol. Only the HJC CL17 (which is an older model) has no pressure points. I have a HJC i10 of which the headliners push into the back of my head after an hour or so. I have pressure points on the back of my head on one of the sides. Yes, I did wear it for 20 mins in store before pulling my credit card out. Usually it takes an hour or more to judge. Recently, bought an AGV K1 on a sale, and that also does the same thing. It's a snug fit, maybe too snug. I will return the AGV for a size bigger, but that's not on sale. Have to eat up the loss and try to see if that helps in anyway.

But wouldn't have necessarily worked in my case. The headliners on those have a contour each side, one of which digs into my head. I was looking at swapping the headliner with the older CL17 model, which is when I found the AGV on sale. Well, sh*t.
In your case, I'd say if tightness is the issue - washing the cushions inside might help shrink it a bit. Also, I was told using a roller gently on it a few times work. If there are pressure points, I think it's probably your head shape doesn't match. If you're buying new set of cheek pads, I suppose the lower thickness one would make most sense?

Don't blame u for ranting. Helmet shopping sucks. The only full face that works for me is Arai, the rest try to rip my ears off when i try to removed it. Bell mag 9. 3/4 face works for those hot days
