Merry Christmas!

Santa was good to me so I'm thinking about picking up a bike during the off-season. My first bike was Honda CBR 125R which I purchased in 2010 got the hang of riding and my licencing out of the way. I ended up selling it and got back into cars. The bug bit me again during the last couple of weeks...

Need some suggestions...I was thinking the Kawasaki Ninja 400r. Has anyone had any experience with this bike??

I'm sure a lot of you are probably going to recommend a 600cc+ bike which is something I don't need, I have enough fun with my car:p

So let's keep it under 600cc. Any advice would be appreciated!

Thanks!

I know a rider on this forum limegreen that has one he told me he regret it after he bought it and had to change the gearing right away to do any decent highway or high speed riding

I know you mentioned you would like to stay under 600 cc . I am assuming you mean no Super Sport 600 Cc or larger. Anyway if you are looking at the Ninja 400r , I would just get the Ninja 650r. It's the exact same bike as the 400 r (size , weight ' suspension , brakes etc) Except it has slightly more power. I recently upgraded from a 250r and it's been great so far.

OP - check your insurance rates BEFORE you get stars in your eyes.
Then budget from there.
You may find a 250 or the new 300 makes more sense from a cost standpoint.

I find most will recommend the 600cc, I will for you as well. Even if you don't use the power it's always nice to have. A big thing is an all around better bike in pretty much every department. You are looking at better shock absorption, great weight distribution, riding ergonomics and so fourth. Also chances are you won't get tired of a 600cc, and if it matters to you the " crowd " at bike meets won't chuckle when you tell them it's only a 400. ( I personally don't care what people ride, but motorcycle communities love to ramble ).
