Need new rear tire

Need recommendations on a rear tire for my 06 650R.

I did some searching and it seems like a lot of people love the Michelin Pilot Power 2CT Front and Pilot Road 3 rear combo. I wonder would a Pilot Road 3 tire on the rear be ok with my BT16F on the front though? Another option I believe is go with BT23 for the rear which are a little softer. Also, please take a look below at the wear on my rear tire.

Here are the tires I have on the bike right now:

REAR: Bridgestone BATTLAX BTO20R

FRONT (4000KM on them): Birdgestone BATTLAX BT016F

023's are incredible tires.
I have over 12,000 kms on my set. I had them on my GSXR 1000 for a yr, but when I sold my GSXR the new owner insisted he was such a fast rider, that he couldn't use touring tires...so I got a set of Pilot Power 2CTs and put them on for him to close the deal....and I kept the 023s...... then I spooned them onto my KTM 950 supermoto. The rear looks to have half it's life still in it, and the front looks new, and they stick pretty damn well. I was rocking them pretty hard in Tennesee a few weeks ago, they looked like I was trackdaying them, and not even one little moment of worry. They really rock.

WOW... Lots of life, performance and durable :) One thing I haven't checked though is pricing locally.

Your rear tire still has 1-2000km left. Get a Bt-023 for the rear. Pilot Road 3's have had issues.

Id do a nice burnout and change them. 1-2km vs a potential wreck isnt worth it.
or you could sell it to jamie, he'll get another 5k out of them lol

Hasn't anyone ever heard of ShooGoo before??
Just spackle a bunch on there evenly, roll the bike around to smooth it out, let it cure and you're good for another season, no problem!

tape works just as well. i recommend duct tape, but try different ones depending on the level of traction you need

Rodney,

If you don't mind riding on a plugged tire than I have a deal for you. Last year I got a roofing nail in my rear tire @ 1000 kms. It's a Dunlop Sportmax Roadsmart 160/60 ZR 17 which came off my Kawasaki ER-6N. I bought a new tire and stored the old one in the basement.

If interested I'll sell it to you for $50. P.M. and let me know.
