Need a new battery

Hey everyone.

I have a 2014 ninja 300 SE, with 1500km on it. The battery cant hold a charge, as it charges up to 13v, then drops down to about 11.5 in a day... still cranks but very close to not. DONT KNOW WHY IT DOES THis, the battery is out of the bike when it does this so probably a low cell. Where would I be able to buy a new battery, prefereably under $40. I can buy a yusa from canadasmotorcycle.ca for $93 shipped and that will be a last resort. I live in mississauga, preferably to buy one around here. Battery is a ytx9-bs.

Canadian tire. But youre not going to find one under $40. Not sure what the point of a $40 battery would be. Itd have to be either used or just complete junk. Id rather keep the old one.

If i went to canadian tire, would I just have to tell them the type of battery and bike?

And at that point if it wont be less than $40, should I just go with the yusa?

You just tell them what bike and what year and theyll tell you every battery they have in stock thatll fit the bike. They usually dont have a ton of selection though. Theyll charge it up for you though. I promise you it won't be under $40.

I've never heard of yusa so I can't speak to that.

Yuasa, the battery almost every motorcycle comes with from the factory.

Op check Canadian tire and decide when you know the price difference.
 
Yes I meant Yuasa haha. Could It possibly be because of the weather we are in? This never happened during the summer.

Did you maintain the battery over the winter? if so, how? I have used yuasa in the past with other bikes and they have never let me down.

Did you attach your battery to a trickle charger/battery tender over the winter?

EDIT: Just missed your reply. Maybe the bike slipped off the tender for awhile? Idk, alot of things couldve happened.

I dont believe so, I placed the quick disconnect to the battery and it was connected the whole time. Also everyday I would check to make sure that the light on the tender was solid green, meaning float
 
You have a 2014 with 1500km on it. If it's a yuasa, it's likely original and toast. I'm surprised it works at all considering its just been sitting for two years. Call Glen at flying squirrel as noted above. The cheapest battery you will find is probably from Kapsco moto.com. They are local and have online sales and shipping. You will likely get what you pay for, I've always had good luck with Yuasa batteries.

Bike was bought in may of 2015, i bought it off a guy in september, rode it until winter, stored it. got it with 150km, stored it with 1500km. Battery isnt a yuasa, its a stock battery. It hasnt been sitting at all, just stored on a tender for the past 2 months. ill look at kapsco

FYI, Motomaster branded power sports batteries are made by Yuassa. They even use the same part numbers.

Some people swear by the batteries at Walmart because of the warranty, but I can't personally vouch for them.

I agree with everyone else, you won't find one for under $40.

Go with the kapsco.

I have a kapsco battery in my Vstrom, and have had it in there for two seasons and over 30000km without any issues at all.

In fact, my kapsco has already lasted me longer than my stock Yuasa -- which only lasted one season until the terminals corroded very badly and they got destroyed as I tried to disconnect everything to clean the terminals.
