Moving downtown, where to park?

If there's a police station nearby, park in front of it. Should be safe there over night. Hell, probably safe if you leave it there for weeks.

I'll go check what the signs says(its at queens quay and Robertson Cres, and try to also find out what the parking policy at the underground lot in the condo building is, btw its the 250/260/270 queens quay st condo building if any of you are around there.

Coincidently, there is actually a police station right at that intersection as well does that make it any safer?

obviously...the popo are usually a pretty good deterrent and have cameras outside their station.

I wouldn't recommend parking on the street day and night, people will steal it if they know it's always there at night. Plus a ninja 250 can be lifted by just 2 guys. it would be a good idea to just rent a spot or find someone who's already renting a spot and split it with them, you don't take up much room anyways while parking against the wall, just place a piece of 2x4 in front of their tire so they don't forget and smash into your bike. Hope everything works out!

Ahhh, never knew any did! Last I heard it was a fire code thing and boards couldn't override it!

Violation of the Fire Code to have two vehicles in a parking spot? Really? And what possible safety purpose would be served by restricting the number of vehicles parking in a spot?

And, just so you know, it is definitely NOT a Fire Code violation. :D

For the OP, you might check into garage space in the area. Post a Kijiji add or something. A long time ago I rented part of a garage to store my bike in and it worked out well for me.

depends on the bike and depends on the neighborhood. I've it's an expensive bike, theft is likely. If it's not an expensive bike, you'll probably be okay if you not in a high traffic area. In a high traffic area your taking your chances with drunk idiots and crack heads that might knock it over for kicks.

That being said, I lived downtown with scooters and bikes for 4 years. While i did have an underground spot, i often parked outside in various areas of the city at night and during the day. The only thing that was ever messed with was my scooter which was twice knocked over on front st at night, near the convention centre.

The street down by the police station is super safe as far as public streets go. There are Bikes parked there all the time 24/7 in the summer.. I've parked there many times myself.

Mine allows it, so it really depends on the board.

Mine as well. I posted a flyer in my condo lobby asking fellow motorcyclist if they wanted to share a spot. A day or two later a friendly neighbor replied. We have three sharing one spot and so far not issues with condo management.

Im down by Yonge and front. I took a flip through the rules and reg and it said only 1 vehicle per spot but I have my bike behind my car and so do a dozen other ppl in the underground.

I'd say try it out till someone says something.
