Mounting an action cam

Picked up an action camera at Royal during their tent sale and trying to figure out where/how to mount it on my helmet...has similar mounts as the GoPro...was looking at videos online and it looks like the chin mount gets the best views and feel from the rider's perspective...was also thinking of putting it on my shield...two questions for you all...

1) can I use the sticky adhesive to put it on my shield?
2) if I put it on the chin of my helmet, the curved mount doesn't make full contact so can I use silicone to fill in the missing areas?

The cops here will soon chime in to tell you of the illegality of what you're proposing...
 
Don't mount it to your visor. Just no.

I used JB Weld to attach the mount to the chin of my helmet, then went over the JB with a black Sharpie/paint pen to blend it in. Looked decent for what it was. I removed the 3M tape from mine before I used JB, you might consider doing the same with silicon.

Chin mount is 100% the best place to put any camera. Period.
 
Mounting anywhere on your bike is fine. Mounted on your helmet is technically illegal, but I've never had an issue. See if you can get a chest mount. That gives a decent perspective.

Never had a problem with the camera on my chin. Cops just give the thumbs up :)

Well hopefully I can avoid the ******* cops. So far haven't come across one.. yet haha

Firstly, I haven't been on active duty for a VERY long time. Secondly, Read my posts I used to have helmet mounted until as others have discovered, it is an HTA violation. The OP can mount his camera where ever he chooses to, If he chooses the helmet and is aware it could result in a ticket, then good for him, he has made the conviction to do so and is prepared for the consequences.

Perhaps you should try reading a little and you would have realized it has nothing to do with my ego BUT more about HELPING fellow GTAM members. Something you should try, rather than trying to begin pissing matches. Might, just might, make you a productive forum and societal member.
