Motorcycle Stereo question

I considered posting this under Tech, but thought it better suited General? Hope that`s OK.

Just purchased a 1984 Honda GoldWing Interstate GL 1200, has a older AM/FM Cassette, not original, dont have the make at hand this day.

My question is this....It has a input on front that just reads CD Input, was wondering if I could find a connector that would fit my apple ipod, so that I could just plug it into CD player input?

Any thoughts, would that work? If anybody thought it would I would have to search for some type of adapter to run from ipod ear phone plug to cd player input.

Thanks

Does it look like a 3.5mm headphone jack? If it does just try a 3.5mm to 3.5mm patch cable and see what happens. It'd certainly be less bulky than a cassette adapter and if it doesn't work you can always return it for the cassette adapter.

All he'd have to do is keep the cassette adapter inside the cassette player. It stays hidden inside and is just the headphone jack wire sticking out.

It would also look more flush with the display as it goes inside instead of sticking outside.

Thanks Guys will try both, also just noticed wireless fm transmitter at can tire? Thanks

Those also work, but I've had problems with frequency interference with the ones I've had. Plus they cost more lol.

I have to find a cassette tape to see if player even works, So far have only had fm radio, the wireless one at Can Tire here in Minden is 39 bucks, according to reviews, it`s on sale quite often, Most reviews are positive on it, I would say 75 to 25 positive neg, you have had issues.

Thanks :)

It's a wire sticking out the front either way. I'd rather use the jack than 2 tape heads butted up to each other.

Whatever works and floats yer boat though.

As far as transmitters go, I wouldn't bother in the GTA. I'd would (and do) use an inline FM modulator.

Yes I picked up a patch cable 3.5 to 3.5 works great! Only problem was it`s 6 feet long, so I have it coiled in a small circle, works great.

Will try to get a 6 inch one when I am in City..us country bumpkins have to take what they have in stock
