Motorcycle Quotes for Over 25 New Rider In This Thread

Hi

So, everyone in this forum is always asking for motorcycle quotes, etc.

I called around today and got a few for myself and thought I would post them here for "general Information"

Info:
Single Male, 25 y/o, Just got M2, No previous motorcycle insurance
Downtown Toronto, no tickets, accidents, etc
No Car - insurance for Motorcycle only

Best quotes across the board = State Farm
2013 Kawasaki ZX-6R -> $165.80/Month
2012 Yamaha R6 -> 176.11/Month
2012 Ducati 848 EVO -> 230.68/Month
2013 Triumph Thruxton (865cc) -> $224.44/Month
2013 Harley Davidson Street Bob (1690cc) -> $247.73/Month

Just for kicks...
2012 Ducati Panigale 1199s -> $263.86/Month

R6 and Ducatis were through one office, all the others were through another. (If that makes any difference)

Overall, I am incredibly surprised at how reasonable the 600cc sportbike quotes were, and even more surprised at how reasonable the 1199s was.

As I mentioned before, there really is no question in this thread - I am just posting some information for my personal situation to offer some insight and maybe help some others out.

My advice?

Forget the online quote tools and just call an office on the phone...much easier and accurate.

Im 15 years older than you and clean record from mississauga and got a 160 a month quote for 1199 base (not s) and 120 a month for a Hayabusa. Both brand new and comprehensive.

Make sure to provide them your right annual mileage if you solely use the bike for transportation.

Are your quotes for liability only?

I pay $65/month for a 600 F4i w/full coverage (And my car is there)
It would be $108 without the car.

Thats good to hear. I'm not sure there would be a difference between base and S, but I could be wrong.

It seems as though as long as you are responsible and don't get tickets, insuring these things are incredibly reasonable. If you believe everything you read on motorcycle forums, (not just this one, but lots of others as well) you're not really getting an accurate picture of the ranges you will be paying.

S is 5000$ more and R is 12000$ more in price!

If you're going to call it general information at least post the offices you did call to get those quotes.
