Motorcycle pants?

I'm about 5'9" and have a 29" inseam. I've been looking for motorcycle pants for a while now and nothing seems to fit and I don't want to ride much longer just wearing thick jeans for safety reasons. I tried on 10+ pairs at Royal Distrusting in Whitby, Ontario and no luck. Either they are to long, or the knee cups are to high or low, to tight.. etc... At this point I was thinking of just getting Kevlar jeans or leather pants.

Any recommendations/suggestions/comments appreciated :)

Did you try them while sitting on a bike or squatting in a pseudo riding position? The length doesn't matter as much as the hems come up in riding position plus the knee cups may ride up to cover your knees.

Did you try on the joe rocket pants? They come in three lenghts (standard, tall or short) 3" difference in the lengths! GP bikes has a good selection! Also the knee pads have two locations inside!

I believe I did. I tried on so many pairs at Royal Distrusting I lost track! LOL... But I'll check the Joe's out again.

Heh, I didn't know that! I bought a pair of Ballistic 10.0 before taking my MSF. The length was fine once I was sitting on the bike, but I noticed the knee armour was still a little low, I would have to nudge it up a bit. I'll have to check that out when I get home.

I have the same problem and gave up....got kevlar sliders - they are soft and comfy and apparently work very well.

Haven't fallen off yet so they are more for something stupid on the occasional gravel road I travel on.
Warm on hot days but great on cool days and you can put them on or off over boots but of course the legs look like stove pipes.

Fashion they ain't .....comfort and not looking too techie.....they are great.

Well how'bout that! There is another pocket for the knee armour. It's about 2 inches higher and fits perfectly now. Thanks for posting that info shane :) The Joe Rocket site makes no mention of it, nor do any of the tags on the pants.

The Tourmaster Flex pants come in short, regular and tall. The knee armor can be moved up or down. The armor should be in place while lying down, not in riding position. When you slide across the pavement you are not squatting.

get a pair of knee/shin gaurds. I use these http://www.ridersdiscount.com/offroad-gear/protection-adult/8651.php everytime I ride. Got them from GP bikes (it's not on there website) for like $27. Very comfortable, fit into your boots and you don't even notice them there. The 2 straps go around your calves so they won't bunch and be uncomfortable at the back of your knee. Honestly, I don't even notice them at all when I ride but I know that if (when:() I hit the pavement I'll be a little more safe.

Yeah I'm short and have trouble finding proper fitting pants too. I was at GP a while ago looking at riding pants. I didn't bother trying anything on because even their smallest stuff would go like up to my chest.

You might want to look at kevlar jeans and if you need to you can have them altered. Sliders is a good brand to check out but I don't think they ship to Canada. You could also check out Rev it gear, their pants come in long and short versions but I don't know a local place that carries them.

I got a pair of Joe Rocket alter ego pants and they are great. You can move the knee pads up and down in different pockets, but the best thing is the venting...a big panel that you peel off. On those really hot days, or when you have been riding in one position for a long while, you just stand up for a few seconds and you can completely air out the boys.

same problem, but John at RC is ordering a "short" for me and its on its way (second try as the first was a bit big), or as Amazon mentioned Velocity... Jimmy will measure you up for the pants and get you a perfect fit. both will be a 3/4 week wait time.

I wear the Icon Victory kevlar reinforced pants. There's plenty of kevlar to cover the knees. I have a 29" inseam as well.

Someone told me to not put any stock in the knee pads which come on riding pants as they will shift out of the way once you hit the ground, as the pants are too loose to keep them in place. My solution is to wear Icon field armour knee/shin guards under the pants.

It gets a little warm, but I feel protected.

I also have a pair of Alpinestar Black Label textile riding cargo pants which I wear on longer jaunts. They're very comfortable and well put together, but I see that they're not made anymore. They were about 3" too long. Had to get them hemmed.

This is a perfect option bud. I think I'm going to do just his.
