Question: Will the 230cca 11.8ah lead acid battery work in a riding mower that has an oem 300cca 21ah? Mower battery requires replacement and I was thinking of putting a lighter lithium battery in my 1290 anyways.

Ah should be how long you can mow your lawn before the battery dies. May need to recharge more often with a capacity that low...

Do you have the manual or the model of the mower?
Should list the CCA requirements.
If they are higher than the 230 CCA of the new battery, you may need to bump start your machine every time you go to mow your lawn...

It's a john Deere E180 mower. It still has the original 7-8yr old battery in it that I posted specs of.
25hp twin.
That's a relatively larger motor. 230CCA might be a bit on the lean side.
The Googs says 250-300CCA.
