Motion pro coolant recovery tank?

Hi Guys, I posted this over at thumpertalk but thought I would check here as well.

I've had issues here and there while riding my CRF450R and from time to time it will drip a bit of the coolant when the temperatures rise.

I try to keep the bike moving, but something that just isnt an option and I'd like some peace of mind knowing that my coolant level isnt dropping.

I've been looking at the motion pro kit, but based on the picture of the device, when the coolant cools how does it pull the fluid out of the overflow bottle back into the rad? Wouldn't it just be sucking in air since both openings seem to be towards the top of the bottle?

Maybe someone that has the kit can explain to me how that work, is there a straw or something inside reaching down to the bottom of the bottle?

oops I should have posted this in the technical section :) perhaps a mod can move it!

Maybe you have a kink or clogged line or a bad line.
Maybe you have air in the system.
Just a guess.

It draws fluid back through the lower port which is connected to your rad overflow. The bottle has a level marked on it that it is suppose to be filled to so that when it overflows it doesn't have to fill the whole bottle for it to be able to be drawn back in. The upper port is the actual overflow that will dump coolant out on the ground. If you put the bottle high enough usually there will be enough coolant in the line that it won't even make it to the bottle and just draw it back in.

Thanks! Got it in and it's sweet!

For future reference you can make those with about $10 worth of parts from walmart.

I used a 2$ turkey baster and some mighty putty. Just had it boil over last weekend and it's worked perfectly for the last two years.
