Mosport new owners?

The primary source for this seems to be Facebook of all places (it's currently linked to from CTMP's front page). Any thoughts on this? Key names are Peter John Thomson, Chris Pfaff, and Alex Krstic (?).

Yeah just saw that too. I think the one of the names is a principal of Pfaff Porsche, amongst other car dealerships.

FIdani is 70. Residential development right now is stalled but his normal industrial is still moving ahead. Maybe he wants to increase his land bank when prices are down.

Here is a reasonably well-written article with a little more info (still nothing on the terms of the sale). Also "Alex Krstic" is Alek Krstajic, a telecom executive who I guess has money burning a hole in his pocket.

Do you think being controlled by three silver spoons could potentially negatively impact CTMPs accessibility for track day organizations? Or conversely, better shield it from nearby residents complaining about noise?

I don't know much about the track, only walking around it once with a friend that had a nearby farm.

If the new owners had racing in their blood it would bode better than a history of land development.

At least it still sounds like it will continue to be motorsports-related. Pitt Race was just sold to someone who intends to turn that site into an AI data center. There's apparently a big electrical substation right next to the track.

Had a very close lifelong friend pass away in September. He raced Superbike at Shannonville and Mosport throughout the eighties. We’ve met every year since at corner 2 at Mosport for the bike races. We’re thinking of spreading his ashes there this summer. Hope the new owners don’t mind.

Lotsa fond memories.
Camping out with uni friends for motorcycle or CanAm car races. Looping the track on a BMW maxiscooter as I was the only one who knew how to ride one. :sneaky:

Got to go on a demo ride on that with other demo model riders....had no issue keeping pace with bigger bikes tho ran out of puff circa 150 ...even with the 1300 I was behind. He had ridden it before and also was surprised how quick it was.
Demo rides were more spirited then.
It was not as good a bike as the Burgman 650 Exec, had limited storage and limited fit for taller riders. The 15" wheels front and back were a good choice.
It certainly was quick enough...the Burgman had a power button which effectively changed the gear ratio = much fun. The BMW did not and did not suffer for it.

Recall the track was bumpier than I thought and greater elevation changes.
