Metzler z6 Interact vs Pilot Road 3?

Hi, has anyone used both tires (and scrubbed them sans-chicken strips, riding fairly aggressively in the twisties) that can offer feedback?
Anyone using Z6's that can offer feedback?

Had some expensive mechanical gremlins and having to do tires, valves, breaks etc at the same time trying to save the $150 delta between the two (and a few days wait as dealer only has Metzler's in stock) but wondering if I'm going to regret it...

Hoping to get actual rider feedback not 'don't skimp on tires, a bike is more to fix'... theoretical feedback as i'm certainly aware and am considering that fact also. :)

Thanks in advance.

I'm not a super-aggressive rider (usually have small chicken strips on my tires) but I have ridden on both tires in mountain twisties. I don't really care about the ultimate grip that a tire can give as I rarely push my bike to those limits - my main concern is to have decent grip in the corners, and good tread life. My bike loaded up for a tour +me = about 1000 lb., so its a bit different than riding a sport bike.

I used the Metz. Z6 when they were first introduced on a FJR1300 that I previously owned (about 5 years ago.) I bought them after reading good reviews and chatting with a high mileage touring rider who had them on his bike (he loved them!) The tires seemed very stable and responsive and held the road well in the mountain twisties in Vermont and New Hampshire. They were great in the rain and treadwear seemed very good. Presumably, they have improved the tire over the past 5 years, so they might be even better now.

I have PR3 tires on my current bike (Concours 14) and they seem excellent. They are confidence-inspiring in the twisties and smooth and stable on the sweepers and straights. They are good in the rain and don't seem to be affected too much by "tar snakes" on the road, either. Can't comment on tread life - only had them on for about 5000 km, but treadwear seems minimal.

Either tire would be a good choice, IMHO.

Back in 2011 or 2012, MCN (UK Magazine) had a tire test and the Z6 came out on top for fastest track times in a pure wet track. There's a youtube vid somewhere ...

Recently, like May 13, Mottorad (German magazine) was hired to Pirelli to due an independent test (lol) to test their new angel gt tires. http://www.pirelli.com/tyre/ww/en/n...pirelli-angel-gt-the-best-sport-touring-tyre/

this time, the test was rated for 'overall' ability. The angel GT came out on top (surprise!) and the z8 came second.

I have spaghetti strips on my Z8s. Coming off dragon supercorsas I actually find the Z8s to be better street tires. They grip very well on dry, and they perform just as well in the rain. I wasn't expecting a long life tire to be so good. Dunno about the Z6s. do they even make them anymore? They might be old stock. The Z8's are actually pretty cheap too.

I'm running Z8's now, previous tires were PR3's. I don't corner aggressively enough to be able to tell you which is the better handling tire. They both seem good to me. I will say I was somewhat disappointed with the PR3 tread life. My back tire was past the wear indicators by 19k km. In comparison, the two sets of PR2's before and the Pirelli Diablo Strada's before those, all lasted between 22-24k km until the wear bar. Same bike, same riding.

Personally I'm always a fan of Michelin's, but the Z8's are dirt cheap and reviewed well, ~$260 before tax and shipping from Pete's
