Well, 60 days and 4000 kms after writing my M1 and taking my safety course, I finally have my M2!

And just back from a Toronto - Ottawa - Montreal - Toronto trip that I had to do completely in daytime hours and all without touching the highway. A lot of fun, though I was a bit disappointed in Highway 7 from Perth to Peterborough (kind of beautiful and boring at the same time).

Think I will go for a little late-night ride around town to celebrate. :D

Congratulations, you have some limited freedoms for the next 18 months, don't build up bad habits till you get the full M.

congratulations!

What limited freedoms are you talking about? Having the M2 is virtually like having the full "M", you can do anything you want, the only difference is that one expires and the other one doesn't.

Blood alcohol limit with an M2 has to be 0.

That's too bad as I would never go night riding 2-up with my girl on the 401 unless I had a few shots first to calm my nerves.

Holy ****! By yourself or with buddies?

Congrats by the way:D. I'm getting my M2 in 2 and 1/2 weeks and my km and expeirence so far don't come anywhere near this.

Did the whole trip alone. I think it was better that way, very zen and no pressure to keep up. Very little traffic overall, it was all on the highway!! Just needed to find port before sundown :-)

My parents live at a centre point between TO, MTL & OT so I used that as base (lots of great trails in that area if you are riding enduro). The entire trip was spread out over 2 weeks, though I also did a lot of side trips each place I stopped.

I think I'll do a trip report in a separate post about the ride as it was fantastic.

I was counting the days to my M2, though I don't really have a strong desire to ride on the highway. Driving around the city at night is fun though :-)

Good luck, and definitely let us know when you are "legal" ;-)
