So here I am..
All excited.. snow is mostly gone, had a couple of rains, and the street sweepers have been out.
Installed a Jester exhaust on my KTM RC8r (my neighbours are mortified), remapped the ECU, blocked off the SAI/SAS system. Awesome...
I finally am getting a chance to take my sweetie out for a short ride today.
Hop on, ride over to my buddy's place (5 miles, 8 km or so away) so we can go for the first ride of the season together... always good to have a back up with you in case something goes wrong don't ya know.
Get there, leave the bike on the street in front of his driveway. Walk up to where he is pulling his bike from the garage and say hello. Walk back, hop on and am ready to go...
He starts pointing to my exhaust, I'm thinking it's cause it sounds awesome.. he shakes his head, so I turn the bike off and look... sure enough, liquid on the ground. I'm thinking maybe just some condensation... look closer, nope..

CURSES SPEWED FORTH! (to all the gods in the multiverse, please note I am apologizing for any offence I may have caused).
It appears as though the rear cylinder valve cover gasket has decided to fail in a spectacular fashion. Leaking down the cylinder casing, onto the engine block, down onto my fancy dancy new exhaust and onto the ground.
Glad I paid for the extended warranty ($0 deductible) when I bought be bike at the end of August last fall (2012 model with 3000 km, now 6000km). Guessing shop labour will be $200ish plus the gasket. Dropping it off at the shop tomorrow. Hope they can get the part in soon.. not the way I had hoped to start the 2015 bike season. 16km under my belt and off the shop it goes.
I know it's not a difficult fix and one I could easily do myself, but I might as well let pro's cover it under warranty - at least the warranty can't be voided that way.
