Truth hurts eh :D.....this is good ol boy country towns are small and not very prosperous ( think 1950s Ontario/rust blet ) and you do NOT want to have a hangover on those twisties.

Looking forward to hear how your trip goes .

A lot of places are closed by 8pm - maybe 9 if your lucky - Depending where you stay - Make sure it is not a Dry County - If so then
make sure you hit the beer store before it closes.

I`m staying Monday night in St.Marys then off to Allentown for Tuesday night.Any suggestion of roads between the two stops .Any suggestions for routes back ?

You should hit 125 between shamokin and pleasant vally. It's an awesome road. some tight twisties and good elevation changes. I highly recommend this one.

And since you're close you should swing by the ghost town of Centrailia. The coal seem beneath the town was set on fire (burning off the local dump). Now all the roads and stop signs are still there with a few concrete steps but all the homes are gone. They had to reroute the road because the fire underneath has caused it to crack and twist. You can feel the heat in the crack and see smoke coming from the ground in places.

What a trip we cut it short because of the bad weather .But what a fantastic area .

Yeah Monday was horrendous for rain - was actually glad I was hung up waiting for a tire. Glad you got at least one decent day.
Tuesday turned out lovely on the way home and no border wait.

Even on the rain the place is great .

Not without wheels :-(
Food is pretty marginal within walking distance tho the ribs were okay down the street.

Try gunners .The place has great food .
