Looking for insurance

Hey im a 22 year old with a 1995 Kawasaki EX500 Ninja. I currently have my M1 but Ive been getting M1 since March 30th 2009. Just never gone for my M2. When applying for insurance does it matter ive had it since 09 or do they only count the M1 term I currently have?
 
They will probably only count the ost recent three months with the M1. Why not simply get your M2?
