Hi everyone.
Picked up a 1981 Yamaha xj650.
The bike is in need of a good mechaninc to get the carbs sorted out.
The previous owner had the carbs cleaned at a shop, but they were not tuned properly. (his words) and I agree.
Smells like it's running really rich, and has an occasional backfire.
I started working on some mechanical things on the bike
but I don't feel confident enough to start messing with the engine and carbs.
I'm guessing the carbs need to by tuned, and maybe valves adjusted.
I want to find a shop that has older bike experience and can get the bike running well again.
