Looking for a bandana substitute?

Go to any bike shop, they should have different options.

Another fan of Buffs. I wear one under the helmet to keep it fresh and then another round my neck on cold days or soak it in cold water for hot weather rides. I also use them under a hockey helmet. I've got about 6 of them.

I bought a wrap around face mask with fabric and leather and a velcro closure in the back. It extends down onto my chest. I wear it under my chin instead of over my nose and it fits up into my full face helmet.
No wind up into the helmet and my neck is warm.

Similar to this. $10 at Port Dover

The ride's got to be comfortable man! If there's something annoying you while you ride, it's fine for the first 10 minutes
after that it starts to take over your attention. In cold weather I need to be warm, I dress for it and look goofy but I
don't care. :) Enjoy the ride! And yes you could still be my friend even if you wore that if it's what turns your crank.

I looked through all your recommendations, but some of them are a bit too warm for what I need.

This seems like exactly what I need, but I e-mailed Schampa about distributors or retailers in Canada and I never got a reply back: http://www.motorcycle-superstore.co.../Schampa-Silkweight-Tube.aspx?WT.ac=SLIsearch . I could always get it shipped, but with brokerage, taxes, and shipping, it'd work out to just shy of 100 for 3 of these :S

Have you guys seen Schampa around at any local stores? And where can I get a plain selection of that buffwear stuff? The bandana cuts look pretty dope, but the selection's a bit overwhelming

Thanks again

Good find - the headphones falling out gets annoying really fast. I've been using du-rags this whole time and getting a double-take from black people when I get off the bike or I'm getting ready to get on lol.

dude.... just go on e-bay. I think even if you search under "bandana" you will get those multi-use ones coming up. I've got a few different ones of there...cheap cheap cheap especially if you can find an seller that has more than 1 decent looking style and get them for 1 shipping price. Like one of the other posters i keep a couple of the cotton ones on me all the time... they are good around the neck and also as a helmet lining. I've been lucky enough to find a black cotton "Dianese" one, and others that dont look so "flowery" [not that there's anything wrong with that!]

Dude, did you look at the Buffs? They're pretty much thin cotton, or if you want warmer they have polar fleece. It sounds like they'd be what you're looking for.

I did...thanks so much! Finally found it at that store across from MEC downtown (after seeing the floral design at MEC). This thing's the greatest - I can't believe how long I went without this piece of gear. It looks pretty good too :D. The merino wool seemed like overkill so I just went with the basic one. Is 25 the going rate for it, though? I'd like to buy a couple more

I just found the Oxford version of the buffs....3 for 15 bucks. Very good value and practically the same thing.

As mentioned above, microfiber, ~$4 shipped. I got one for every jacket...

The design/color you'll actually get may be different, but the ones I've got were quite nice. Feel better than Buff and should last longer too.
So just to clarify, although it says blue, I'll probably get different patterns/colours? The price was right but I went through all of the "face, masks, & scarves" category, but I couldn't find any other listings that were similar, but in a different colour.

I'm guessing the oxford snugs? & have you got a link?

Yes. I ordered from the same listing but got black/grey patterned ones instead of blue. That's fine with me, but other people may not like it. DX is so cheap that it doesn't really matter and they will return/replace stuff...

No links but I found them in a local motorcycle store (Ottawa Goodtime Centre) You can probably get them or have them ordered wherever dealers have a decent amount of Oxford stuff. Lots of different styles too.

I lost my buff a couple of days after I bought it, so I got these in the mean time.

Europe Bound has these for 10 bucks if anyone wants them. They don't look too bad. I'm gonna order form Vlad's link when I get the chance - just couldn't wait for the shipping delay:
