Looking at down sizing bike

I'm not sure if this thread was the work of a troll or not, but the topic is a good one. I also "downsized" as I wanted something a bit more manageable for street use, cheaper to insure, and easier to work on. I went from a 135 hp (and oodles of torque) to 80 hp, but got rid of unnecessary complexity, shed some weight, lost the cumbersome plastics, got improved ergos, and overall, a much more pleasant riding experience. I find that I can still go fast enough if I want to, but this bike is more at home tooting around at 3000-3500 prm. To each their own I guess.

BTW, I can also park her wherever I want and nobody gives her a second look... so no worries about theft either ;)

My last four bikes were 1000's and I got 0 tickets over a 10 year span of riding them. Current bike is a single cylinder 650 and still no tickets. It is easier to not pay attention on an SS and then look down as see you're going 150+ but that's operator error.

Not saying I haven't found out just how fast any of the old bikes were.... just saying if you're stupid about it you will burn eventually and you will cap yourself right out of being able to insure them.

Probably the real reason why some people talk about downsizing :)

They just don't want to admit they are ****ups so they blame the tool.

It's not the bike that gets you in trouble. It's just you.
