Long weekend trip to Ottawa

I am thinking of taking a trip to Ottawa for part of thelong weekend, I am off Friday (working 11 hr afternoon shift). Looking forpoints of interest/roads to travel on? Any recommendations? Thinking of ridingup the 307, at some point. Any and all help would be welcome. Other riders would also be welcome.

If you head through Wellington to Picton on to Kingston that's a pretty nice way as there's hundreds of ways to get from Kingston to Ottawa but you'll be on the 401 until you get near Picton. I think most of the people here say take the 7 most of the way and then there's some variations from there around Calabogie etc. You can also cross over to Quebec and follow the Ottawa river from the other side to downtown Ottawa too.

North from Kingston I recommend highway 10 or highway 38 as starting points.
 
Some nice roads if you want to take the time
Lakeshore rd out of Newcastle to Port Hope
Hwy 2 to Trenton and across PEC to Picton
1000 Island Parkway
It all depends how you stitch them together.

Are you looking for just a scenic way there and back or an area ride for the weekend as there are some superb roads north and east of Ottawa and on the way up.
 
Here's the route I was given verbatim and it works wonders:
......Bancroft.......Denbigh, Griffith, Calabogie, Hopetown, Almonte, Kanata.

I am thinking of spending 2 nights out in the Ottawa aria, Ireally don’t care for inner city riding, I prefer (paved) back road riding. Iwas thinking (day 1) riding to a hotel in the Napean/Ottawa/Hull, checking outsome local sites. (Day 2) riding up the 307 to Mont-Launer. Or ride over toMont-Tremblant, or even both. Then back to the Ottawa aria for the night. (Day3) find a scenic ride home.

You can easily do Mont Laurier over to Tremblent and it's a really nice ride. I did the exact same ride this past summer. South of Tremblent Breboeuf is worth stopping at for scenery. Roads are all in good condition and some have been recently paved. Consider staying in the Ottawa Youth Hostel, it's a converted jail. Or for a better place to stay look at Wakefield, it's 20 mins or so north from Ottawa on the Quewbec side and a great place to be based for rides.
 
seconded - Wakefield is a great area and you could camp at the Horizon X Kayak camp for cheap - maybe even have some fun on the water.
North and East of Ottawa is lots of good riding.
 
I don't know about points of interest necessarily, but if you're into an amazing meal, Fall River is one of the great hidden gems in Ontario.
On Hwy 7 about an hour West of Ottawa. The food is organic, local and absolutely delicious.

Driving the cage right up that way. Would take the bike but need to bring my fishing equipment and my fishing dog as heading to the cottage just south of Maniwaki. If the weather's nice, and it should be, riding along the 105 is a fun time. Scenic and twisty in a lot of spots.
