Lightcycles!

Went on Cheap Tuesday to see this.

Did I enjoy this movie?

Yes. Very much so! The visuals were spectacular and NiN soundtrack was a perfect complement. Ducati continues their partnership with the Tron franchise, but most intriguing of all... a Hypermotard snowbike!!!

They didn't hide the fact that it was filmed in Vancouver at all. Lots of recognizable landmarks and street signs. Lightcycle Akira-slide thrown in as a deep-cut for the manga fan boys.

Was it a good movie?

Oh god, absolutely not. Cringe dialogue and flimsy plot. After watching this movie, not sure why Gillian Anderson's character was even in it? Seemed like there was a whole plot point surrounding her cut out of the movie...

Overall, not better or worse than any of its predecessors.

If you are Tron fan, you most definitely need to go see it on a very large screen with a very loud sound system.

If you are not a Tron fan, you will not like this movie. At all.

Thanks I almost went over the weekend but think I'll just stream it. Headphones and 34" of curved bliss will suffice.

Haven't seen any of them but saw this on facebook and immediately thought of this thread:

Lots of movies bombed at the theater, only to become classics. Kind of like the Hawk GT.

Now I kind of want to watch Idiocracy, and rewatch Office Space.

Totally. What's sadder still is when you think that, the movie came over a quarter century ago, and aside from more work from home days and less paper... a lot really hasn't changed.

I love "Idiocracy" (Disney+) it's silly and fun. I'm still amazed at the brand names/marketing they were able to get rights too.

Fun fact Crocks are the footwear of the future because everyone in the movie is wearing them because the costume designer had a limited budget and because they thought they were too ugly to ever become popular in real life.

Remember Brawndo, its got what plants crave. It's got electrolytes.

In the same year that Tron came out, there was another movie in the theatres which had a production cost of $33MM. By the end of its theatrical run, it made $39MM worldwide, but failed to turn a profit after marketing costs were factored in.

By every metric, it was a box office flop.

That movie was Blade Runner.
