LED bolts - how to remove license plate?

I'm going to be doing a fender chop on my Ninja 250 and I bought LED license plate bolts to replace the stock light I'm removing. I guess it only now occured to me that I'm going to run into an issue of attaching and removing the plate if there are wires running into the bike and splicing in.

What is the typical thing to do here? Should I buy those bullet style male/female connectors?

Solder and heat shrink is the best connection.
Or if you plan on removing it a couple times you could find a.small terminal block

It's a really thin wire. I'd just twist together and wrap with electrical tape and be done with it. Or you could cut the oem connector off the original plate light (if you have it) and connect it permanently to the bolt-light

those license plate bolts suck...poor illumination.

something like this from superbrightleds.com are way better (illumination and clean install)

there $1.99 each (but shipping sucks)

I've never seen a good connector that could fit through the nut required on the back of a light-up bolt, so I've always used t-connectors. Not the easiest things to re-use but they work, and if they don't they are cheap.

If I had to do it again I would probably use some kind of tool-less connector from my telephony bag.

Thin wires will corrode faster than thick wires....

Connectors and some di-electric grease are what you want if you plan on removing them often, bullet style OEM are best. If not, definitely solder and watertight heat shrink.
