Leathers are hard!

Feeling like an armadillo wearing them. What are you guys using to soften up your leathers? Is there a lazy mans spray w/ mink oil for this?

Juice them all up with mink oil gel, leave for a few days, wipe it all down. It takes a bit of work. I did it on a jacket that got caught in the rain and the leather felt better for sure. The leather needs to marinate.

when my son played baseball there was some type of foaming conditioner we used to use on his gloves to help break them in. We would get it at Dick's
spray the glove, put in the oven for a short period....

Dont know if this would work on leathers and not sure if I would risk "testing" on as set of leathers you have hundred invested in

Too much bunk ecstasy?

OP I have no answer, I just started wearing a leather jacket and also find it stiff as hell.

Somebody is bound to get the reference and either laugh or frown in disgust.

LOL! I think you're going to learn you have to break it all in... Leathers will berak in and loosen up when you properly wear it over time.

What brand are you wearing? Some are a lot stiffer from the get go...

Time is the best break in for leather. Put them on and ride, ride, ride.

Mine's a perforated Alpinestars Mert. Nice and cool, maybe even too cool for this time of year.

Neatsfoot Oil - pick it up at a hardware store. It's specifically made to condition and protect leather.

I use Meguiars leather spray - same stuff for car interiors - works great. Spray on, wipe off. Done.

Like a new pair of shoes, best way to break them in is to wear them. They'll conform to your body in all the right places. It won't take that long before they're comfortable. I just started wearing a Schott horsehide cafe racer and thought it would take months to soften the very stiff leather. It quickly started to soften up after a few weeks of regular wear.

I would imagine the more expensive leather pieces would be a little more subtle than the cheaper stuff. Having said that - it's leather! You gotta wear it! It'll break in as you wear it.
