Last Ride of the Season ! MAYBE

The season is coming to an end and maybe I am panicking !
It seams I have done more riding in October than all summer.
Sunday I got in another 180 km.
It was 12 degrees and sunny when I headed to Napanee to see if any of the CVMG group showed up.
Only one other person appeared but he still road races so it meant for a spirited ride rather than a parade.
Bob just turned 80 and along with his wife are million milers on their BMWs.
It has been 3 years since I have been on the Bedford Rd as it was in horrible shape.
The south part has been repaved so no more having to ride the pegs.
There is a good number of blind corners posted at 20km.
Bedford Rd becomes Desert Lake Rd and then we turned off on to Deyos Rd north to Westport Rd.
Riding in the fall makes life interesting with the long shadows and leaves on the road.
We stopped in Verona at Muddy Waters for lunch.
After lunch we headed North to Piccadilly and the Oak Lake Rd.
The first 3.5 km of First Lake Rd is gravel but everything else is paved.
On the way home I stopped at Harrowsmith Brewery and a food truck called Hartie's House

Just to prove no matter how much experience we have we are still fallible.
I had missed a turn and had to do a U turn.
Back on the correct road I had travelled about a 1/2 km before I noticed NO BOB in mirror.
Upon returning to the point where I had turned around I found Bob trying to upright his BMW.
His foot had slipped and down the bike went.
Of course we are on the side of a hill with the top of the bike facing down.
It took the 2 of us to get it upright with much groaning.
No damage other than Bob’s ego and some spilled gas.

The weather report is calling for 18 degrees on Thursday
Maybe one more Last Ride of the Season.

Nice run, Oct has been really good this year, or fall in general.
I was hoping to make it over to that pancake place out your way, but other rides have taken my attention.
Let's see what is left of the season.
