Ktm Duke 690

I couldn't flatfoot a sportbike to save my life. (Not that it really matters to me. I have a tall seat on my 250.lol) The Duke is small. Distance from seat to bars is short as well as from seat to ground. Felt very beginner bikeish. I was hoping it would be like a motard and have an adjustable suspension.

I was wondering how they could sell the Duke with it's fancy bodywork for cheaper than the offroad version. Now I know. Pity, It was on my short list for my next street bike and I was itching for a drive to Angus.

Why? Other than Todd and the boys at Mission, there's nothing in Angus! Lol. I know, I live there.

That's a tempting deal. Only fly in the ointment is no trunk. Burgman 650 has a trunk. Something to think about.

Burgmans are everywhere! They might be trying to take over the world!

Of course, ex-goldwing owners like to add a few lights to their Burgman.

If I need a trunk I am driving a car, not riding a Duke. But the Duke has 17" inch wheels, I guess something to consider as well.

I have 2010 smc, same motor I think. It is great at what it is surposed do. It feels like riding a mtb . It is really neat around town. It kind of neat to be able to blast down a pot holes granel road in he spring without getting thrown all over the place. I can find find wear running the 'speed limit' is quite challanging cause of the road conditions. I run Mt-60 tires, They work well on dirty pavent and hard packed gravel. My other bike is a cbr1100xx , so the smc feels like a toy. The optional off road map really brings the bike alive.
