KLR Hwy tires

The Shinko SR777 is a good all round tire that is reasonably priced and available in many sizes.
Its not like you need a high speed/load rating.

I only really ride hardpack dirt roads, looking for something that is a great hwy tire

The Shinko 244 is a good tire for hardpack dirt, quiet and reasonable cornering on pavement.
I have run them a lot and get good life.

Metzler Marathon ME880's are very long lasting hwy tires. I rode with them on my KLR for one season. I found them a bit hard for cornering, but they were great mile munchers.

Hi Shane, thanks for the great info, wondering if you ever tried to put a 150 tire on your KLR? or would it even fit? i'm currently running a 130

I’ve only ever run stock tire sizes on any of the bikes I’ve owned.

A question like that I would check on the KLR forum to see what real world feedback is. I’m sure people have either asked about it there or done it.
