Kill light/electronic switch?

I wanted to get into track riding next year so I've been doing a lot of reading. Since all lights (signal, brake, front) have to be dced, can we just simply have a kill electronics/light switch?

I'm likely not understanding something but can someone explain to me why the lights have to be taped? Would be a pain in the *** to convert from street to track and back each time =(

The issue is not that "the lights are on". The issue is that "the glass can break". Switching the lights off doesn't solve that issue. REMOVING them solves that issue, but in that case, there is no purpose having a switch, because the lights are not there anyhow :)

Taping over the lights doesn't stop the glass from breaking but at least it tends to keep the glass together instead of sending bits of it flying all over the track.

And, yes, I know your signal light lenses are probably plastic. It still shatters and has sharp edges when it does.

To solve your dilemma ... have a dedicated track bike :)

Not enough $$$ =(

Plus no way to transport for now. Perhaps in the future.

Lights need to be taped so they dont shatter all over the track when you crash. Pulling the fuses out of the lights is also recommended as your headlights can bake the glue from the tape on if you leave them on underneath.

Having a kill lights switch would be a pain in the *** to wire. Especially if you have a Honda as alot of the circuits are common.

Just tape your lights like everyone else. It's not that big of a deal.
