Been in the market for a new bike (searching since feb)...

Looking specifically for the 06 zx6, or 05-08 cbr600 and theres abostely no good bikes posted ... As for the zx6's all the bikes posted are insanely overpriced for what theyr offering or theres no variety to choose from at all!

When do you guys think kijiji will begin to see more variety? (Also i bought my previous bike last year around june'ish and didnt have a problem... Hope indont have to wait until then this year)

Took over a year for my bike to show up in the price range I wanted :( and I was even looking in Quebec and all over Ontario. If you're not looking for a very specific bike, check the Quebec kijiji, and make sure you're looking all over Ontario, not just GTA and especially not just Toronto

What's your budget? And for the CBR, are you looking at both first and second gens because 05 - 08 encompasses 2 generations (2003 - '05 and 2007 - '12).
You can try checking out the reasonably priced bikes thread but here's a few ads I just found that seem reasonable or at least not massively inflated...

'03 600RR $4300

'08 600RR $6700

Cheapest '06 ZX6 I could find in the GTA is asking $5600

Good luck

Check stateside... waaay more options, and even though the dollar is lower now, there still is more selection and better prices. Good luck!

First time replying using tapatalk lol... Forgive me if i quoted the entire post

I was looking to spend between $4,500-5,500 for a CBR, preferably w/ a nice exhaust and FE ( those are really the only mods i care about).

I did find one cbr for $5.5 with 24km ... Thinking i should go check it out sometime this week

The 600RR updated to a newer generation in 2007. I think you should be able to find an 05-6 in your price range but an 07+ might be harder to find. Don't get too worked up about km. If the bike is clean and has been well maintained 24K is nothing.

Agreed with this post ^

Check out every one you like that fits your spec, then make reasonable offers. I think someone that wants to sell and has had an ad chilling on kijiji for a few weeks and is dealing with lowballers might sink for you.
You could even follow up a week later and see if they'd like to reconsider. It's better than waiting for it to fall in your lap, which it won't. Wanted ads help too...

Cash talks. Take a pic of 5 g's in $100 bills spread out on an expensive looking table and send it to your target zx6 or CBR. They can't resist those $100 bills. You'll get any bike you want.

Cash does talk, but words are wind. Best thing to do is find a bike you're interested in thats somewhat close to what you want to spend. Arrange a time to check out the bike, and head there cash in hand. look it over and if its mechanically sound, paperwork checks out, and it's what you're looking for show him the cash and let him know you'll take the bike right there and then for your price. Get him to hold the cash, and get him to count it. Success rate will be exponentially better, and it is a lot harder to turn down an offer when they are actually holding the money in their hands compared to chatting over email or phone or text.

With big purchases its always better to discuss price AFTER you have seen the product up close and inspected it, and never go alone if you can help it. Also you don't have to make your first offer your spending limit. If your willing to spend 6, you can hand him 5500, keep 300 on your and give your friend that comes with 2. If he turns down the 5500, hand him the other 300. If he still says no, ask your friend what he has on him that you can borrow (works best if they have their holding money in 20's so it doesn't look fishy them pulling out 2 new 100 bills); it will build empathy as he will see you really want his bike, and as you're already 'borrowing' money from a friend to buy it he won't be able to try and talk you over what you have, so you can walk away if he says no again. Maybe a little underhanded, but as you can tell from the overpriced thread some people way over valule their bikes, and other people want to sell, they just don't know it yet.

Happy Hunting
