Kawi Green on a 500R. Your opinions?

I realize it's a bit odd to ask for opinions on a colour, since taste is such a subjective thing, but I can't seem to make up my mind on the '06 Ninja 500R's in Kawi Green that I have seen on Kijiji. Sometimes I think it's a great colour for the bike, and other times I think it makes the 500R look even more dated than it already does. Black is my favourite for the 500R. I find it minimizes the somewhat dated look of the bike.

On the other hand, I think the Kawi Green on the new 250R's and 650R's looks nice, though it wouldn't be my first choice. I'm not sure if maybe the new green is a couple shades different than the green on the 500R, or maybe it's when the green is coupled with the glossy black of the 500R vs. the more modern matte black of the newer Ninjas that is making it look... busy. Maybe it's the black belly pan that is putting me off. Seems to draw all the attention up top, with a thin line of green, where as the new Ninja's have more colour coverage, and look more, filled out if you will.

Anyway... what do you all think of the green 500R's?

I definitely prefer that model in Black. I agree that the green grabs your attention to the top of the bike too much and just makes it look... odd.

Regarding the 250/650, if you're talking about the 2012 models, then yeah it's a completely different shade of green. "Candy Lime Green" is much darker/bolder. It's my favourite colour on Kawis right now, honestly.

With that said, to each their own. It's not my bike or anyone else's here. Go with whichever you prefer :)
 
Signature Kawi colour! Not my thing but pretty slick.

But, nothing beats their Solar Yellow with undercoat of metal flakes :P
 
Yes, Candy Lime Green was on the 650r in 2010, they went back to the original Kawi Green for 2011, and I THINK it's back to the Candy Lime for 2012.. two very different colors.. I love my candy lime green, don't much care for the original lime green.

I like the Green and black combo on the 500r, even tho the bike is hideous
 
Thanks to everyone for all the replies. I went to look at the bike today, and I think the green is actually pretty awesome on the 500. Most of the pics on the net don't seem to capture the green very well. Cheap cameras maybe.
 
My fav 500 colour schemes are green, plasma blue or whatever you call the one in Paulhv1's pics, and the black from '05. I passed up a smoking deal on a mint black '05 last month after listening to so many people here say it was overpriced. Man do I ever regret it. Big time.

Anyone here like the purple/grey colour scheme on the 500's? I think it was 2001.
 
That was my favorite until I saw my blue one without the tribal decals.
 
Is that what they are supposed to be? I thought they were badass flames lol.

Are they pretty easy to remove?
