I was talking to a friend about old cartoons, and we were trying to figure out where and when we wanted to start riding..hell, where did the term rider even come from? Then we remembered this.

This is what got me into bikes, start at 3:40... This always reminds me of the Gardener downtown. It actually felt real during the g20 with all the cops around.

I can't believe Akira is 23 years old, it blows all animation today away.

I also remember going to a friends place the day after I saw Akira and I tried to buy her brothers motorcycle... My parents found out and almost kicked me out of the house. I had a toy like the Kamen rider too... it was a shogun godzilla (sold at canadian tire!)

i have to go with Akira, that **** was so rad i was only grade school back then, but that bike had me forever enchanted.
i was kamen rider fan as well, RX was cool.

I grew up two hours east of toronto, their was a group of us that were addicted to anything Japanese. After seeing Akira I went mental for anything from there. Allot of the new Anime sucks, but if you dig you can find some good stuff. Oh any early manga from Masamune Shirow is AWESOME.

Taiwan one here, one of the first books my father bought me at was a Kamen Rider art book. Sucks that we only had one Kamen Rider here =(

This has got to be the stupidest movie ever made, and it actually makes me feel sick to my stomach riding a motorcycle after seeing it.

Damn, surprisingly enough I've never watched Akira, I was a DBZ type of guy back then (and Kamen Rider).
