Just sold my first motorcycle....feeling sad / alone / drinking now

So I just sold my first motorcycle, 2007 fz6. Learned to ride on her and just watched her get trailer'd away....ahh it's pretty emotional!

Drinking a few beers now deciding on what new bike to purchase, I'm thinking CBR650F....thoughts?

FZ6 - aluminum monocoque frame, four piston monobloc calipers, 98 hp

CBR650F - tube steel full frame, two piston calipers, 87 hp

Of course bikes are more than their technical descriptions, but why'd you let go of the FZ6?

Bought the bike used, never loved the colour....never liked the naked style.....it just didn't feel like "my" bike if that makes sense. But it was what i could afford insurance wise until I hit 25.

..and yet emotional. I see.. you just picked the wrong time of the month to sell. :D

^^apparently right!

+1 to your cbr650 idea. I know someone who bought one and I love the look of it personally. I've never ridden it but it feels comfortable. I don't hate the ninja 650's either :dontknow:

Take some time, figure out what you're looking for. My last bike was a Vstrom 1000, loved it but lacked something. I've had 600ss, 750ss, 1000ss, cruisers, dual sports and a goldwing. Sold the strom last June, been looking at bikes ever since. I'd pretty much decided on an fz1, but then I test rode a kawasaki versys 650. Punchy twin engine, healthy midrange, came with colour matched v35s. Loved the bike, and totally looking forward to a bike I can "run through the gears" on. The fz1 I would have to ride like Grampa, I'm a driver by trade and need my license clean.
I'm not saying to wait 9 months, but you got time. Do a lot of research, figure out what you want from your bike, then get shopping! This can be one of the most fun/exciting times as a motorcyclist. :)

Lol! In first gear I've already lost my driving privileges... The Versys will allow a bit more "hooning", I like "hooning"! :D

Recommend the gsx650f... Similar stance to your first bike but full fairing. Then again, I've turned into a Suzuki guy

some ppl might say get some blow, redbull, 2 escorts, and a hotel room for the weekend
problem solved

I'd take a FZ6 over CBR650 any day. You could've gotten fairings for it. There was a factory kit. Expensive new but possible to find used. Colour I personally never care about, I look for deals and you can't be picky in that situation. :)

I agree about buying before selling. So much easier and you can keep the OG if you end up not liking the new kid.

Anyhow, get a Ninja 1000. I'm leaning that way myself to replace the VFR800 within a couple of years.

Get yourself some more beers, a few lot lizards and some snow *wink wink* and you'll feel much better. Or use all the money that would be wasted on such a fun night and buy yourself a new buy right away!

The CBR is nice. I was in the dealership the other day and there was one there. I sat on the bike and the seat wasn't to bad for a stock seat.

I am truly sorry for your loss. This is never a good feeling...

Sucks eh? I was the same with my three bikes. Each one I regret selling
