Hi - I'm a new rider (first week in) and I have a red 2009 kawi 250. I had a seat cowl and the lock piece broke off from the plastic part. Thinking I could get home without issue, it completly flew off and I lost it. Now I need to find a place to get a cowel not to mention I see that their are two types of kawi red (sunbeam and passion). How do I know which one is my red and where should I buy one?

Oh.....and my license plate doesn't fit right.

Can anyone help me out? Any advise would be welcomed. Clearly newbie issues. Thanks!

For the color, you should be able to call Kawi dealer like Kahuna, give them bike info and they'll tell you the colour? Then check with junk yards (listed in dealers section on this forum) or find one cheap on ebay.

What's wrong with your license plate? It doesn't fit right because you have fender eliminator? Post a pic too.

And for the future, there is a decent pre-ride check listed as a sticky in the 'general discussion' forum. Generally, try to check/tighten major bolts on your bike at a pre-set interval, just to make sure. I lost 3 bolts over 3 years - one from seat lock, two from fairings, because I never check those. Sucks when you get home and your seat lock is in pieces under your seat.

Hey thanks for the help! I called Kahuna and got the color figured out and ordered one on ebay today. I go the fendor eliminator looked at and apparently it was "home-made". Basically I need to drill into plate to get it to stay. For now, I have zip ties holding it together.

Learning so much in such a short time!
