Just bought a CBR125 - is it going to explode on the highway?

Exactly! If anybody wants a spare 6th gear i dont really use mine so you can have it, just pm me and its yours. I also removed my rev limiter so no more redline at 12,000, i had it to 15,000 the other day and i can really feel the power.
I had a guy I flashed ask me to set his rev limiter at 18k!!! He's got all the YEC goodies (cams, springs, etc.), aftermarket pistons, rods, balanced crank, etc. She's getting dyno tuned today, be interesting to see a) if she holds together and b) if it makes any power up that high

If you take any bick under a 400 on the highway it will explode and kill the rider and anyone close enough to the blast to be hit (40KM radius). In 2011 riding 125's on a highway killed almost a quater of a million people world wide.

First, I am impressed you rode 2up bouncing the rev limiter the whole way

Second, I want to see a video or dyno chart of the modded one you speak of

Third, to OP, your bike will be fine. Those 125s can take a ****** kicking. source one-I own one with 22k on it so far. Source two - kneedragger88 told me that the race bike 125s that Racer5 used had like 40-50K on them when they were turned to track bikes. Then lasted for quite some time after that with little or no engine problems.

Yes. The little bike is a few doomed moments from a cataclysmic explosion.

There must be some misunderstanding.
Most of the bikes we converted had under 1000km on them before they were converted. The highest examples were under 5,000km.
The bikes also go through a very strict maintanence schedule after every event that they are used at our Speedworx facility.
We also have the same mechanic that originally built the CBR125s and CBR250 race bikes for Honda Canada overseeing the fleet to ensure the bikes are always in order.
Im not even sure where one would find 25 CBR125s with over 40k on them?!? Lol

That being said in the CBR125s country of manufacture (Thailand) it's common to see neglected ones with well over 120,000km!

I probably wasn't listening then. I was working on my car while he was shooting the ****** with my brother and I was super duper hung over that day. Still though, I hear the 125s are quite bullet proof. At least I hope so because I plan on keeping mine, even after buying another bike.
