3:28 was a pucker my *** moment, i came in to turn 2 nice and hot closing the gap on him and he was going a lot slower than i thought he was, or at least he had scrubbed off a lot of speed for turn 3 so i had to eat a hand full of front brake to avoid hitting him, i was happy hitting turn 3 at the pace i was going and braking through it if need be but not with him parked in front of me, lol. ive done 8 or 10 days at tmp so far between this and my old bike, best i managed according to the diablo track app yesterday was a 1:20.2 around there, i was running around 1:21-1:22 chasing after him. im on a k1 thou so shes an old girl.
the final trip in to turn one was a funny one, i think what happened was the first time i passed him i may have blocked his entry in to turn one, normally ill catch people on the braking zone there as i did to him twice and ill pitch her in to turn one and power through it, but i took a bad line in and went wider than i wanted to and scrubbed off too much speed in the process, so he repaid the favor by coming nice and close to me on the exit, second time was the same thing, i could have gone faster in to it but i didnt want to from the center of the track, and the third one and final attempt if you watch where he starts to brake, hes braking well beyond his braking zone, he was braking before the end of the wall before hand and i dont get on the brakes till after the wall, and so he was starting to brake where i brake, so i ended up floating the rear to slow down just in case he pitched the bike in towards me if i tried to pass him, no need to have him side swipe me because i tried to pass. its just a track day and theres no need to trade paint, so i think he started to brake too late to keep me from passing him and went wide as a result and mowed the lawn. there were a few spots where i could have passed him in the infield but i just didnt feel comfortable in case he went wide or something, thought about it a few times though. nice little back and forth, probably the best one i had all day
