I found some places that are known for doing good jobs altering leather riding jackets, but how about for cloth/mesh? I have a Shift Air-Avenger that I wanted to be altered a bit..I was gonna go to a random tailor in the mall and get it done, (he said it would be $30), but I'm worried about the stitching comming apart during a crash..thats the last thing I need. Any recommendations? I'm in Markham.
Thanks

It is easier to sew cloth/mesh than leather because the needle pierces permanent holes into the leather. Leather is also thicker and requires a heavier duty/commercial machine. Any alternation mistakes are easy to spot. Cloth/mesh material should seal the hole once the material gets wet and swells. Insist that the sewer use polyester thread so that over time it will not rot away. Also have them double stitch everything and you should be Ok. I am sure that the places that sew leather riding jackets can also alter cloth/mesh jackets.

Where in the province do you live? John bickle at bickle racing does a wicked job with repairs, i'm sure he could get it done for you. Very reasonable pricing too.
