I was out for a boot on sunday night and after a bit of a pull I started to slow down and could hear a bad noise in 4th. 1,2,3,5,6 are all fine but 4th makes one hell of a noise now.
I know I need to pull it out and apart but by the time I do that and order parts (if I can find them) It will of been a long time.
so now I have a few coices.
1, find another 750cc or 100 or bandit 1200 engine (very very hard to)
2, buy a parts bike (they are still 1g+)
3, Buy another bike.
I love my old 91 gsxr 750 and want to fix her but trying to pay for a wedding and fix the bike is kinda tough.
I masy be heading to quebec on monday to pick up another 91 gsxr that "hopefully" is ready to die then maybe I can tear apart my baby and take time.
What do you guys think?
I dont really want a newer, I like my old oil boiler and just fixed her up this winter after years of abuse.
My problem with my stuff is that it snow balls hard!!!!
if your gonna pull it apart then you gotta change 2, as well as 4th and look over the rest.
if I pull the engine aprt then new rings, but if new rings then I may as well bore and new pistons, if you do all that then you might as well do the head, and then you might aswell get nice cams.... and it doesnt stop. I dont think I could just swap a gear and be done. I wish I could just find a engine to drop in for now.
the 90/91 engines are unique and thats whats killing me.
