Is my bike lowered?

Some people are telling me its lowered others are saying its not.

The bike bottoms out on bumps. Have a look at my rear suspension. Is this stock? If not where should it be bolted?

Hey John. Take a pic of your tire to tail clearance too, might help :)

What year is your F4i again??

Edit: If you look closely at this pic you can see that there is that same weird dogbone plate attached to the shock, so maybe yours isn't lowered!!

Oh crap, wrong copy and paste. Here it is:

Good luck figuring out why it's bottoming all the time. I took my R6 to Precision Cycle in Oshawa. They did a sweet job tuning my suspension!

There are 2 ways to lower those F4/F4i's....

#1 - is the most common way, change those 2 shock linkage plates, usually they have 2 holes, like the swingarm in the picture. It is usually, stock height, lowered by an inch, and lowered by three inches. this is also a cheaper route to go, so people go this route. like this one

#2 - not as common. more expensive way to do it. you could've either gotten a fixed position link, or a adjustable link. like this one...

Good to know. If he was lowered, he wanted to UN-lower it.

I guess maybe his pre-load isn't set for his weight? (why he keeps bottoming it out)...

Your bike is not lowered its just and F4i, which are known to have soft rear shocks that also get pouched. First check your shock settings and see if you can stiffen it up just by adjusting it, if nto look into getting a shock rebuild or replacement...

Wow, great post! I have the "#1" shock linkage plates with 3 holes, and my bike is sitting on the lowest hole. I was told that the middle hole is the stock height... I am planning to put the bike back to regular height, so I should go all the way to the "upper" hole? Thanks!!
