Information for those using Motolimo via CAA

FYI for those using Motolimo via CAA.

I had Motolimo tow my bike today via my CAA membership. If you contact Motolimo directly, they will tow your bike at a cost of $20.

If you contact CAA, it sounded to me as though it is not certain that it will be Motolimo that does the tow. Furthermore, I am not sure if you can ask CAA to send Motolimo versus any other of their service providers. If anyone has tried this, please let me know.

lol my Motolimo ride was no where close to $20

You can request CAA to send Motolimo to pick up your bike. Sometimes Motolimo guys will be kind enough to help you call CAA from the spot, but that's not the process you should follow. Motolimo also does not have full coverage in Ontario, so if you are outside of their boundaries (i.e. they don't cover Orillia), you'll have to pay extra. If I remember correctly it cost me $100+tax or a bit more to get my bike towed from north of Orillia back to Toronto (and I have CAA).

Read his post again.

I have called them directly multiple times for CAA tows, and none of the tows have cost me any money. You are also able to ask specifically for motolimo when you call CAA.

And you have CAA Plus?

And I remember when we "requested" Motolimo and they sent some wack job tow truck NOT EVEN A FLATBED! He was going to just wrap the cable around the forks and lift it up! lol. We had to call CAA back twice and eventually they sent out Motolimo. I guess we weren't clear enough on the phone.

No CAA. Just commenting on the fact that its pricey if CAA isn't picking up the tab.

I think the OP was implying if not explicitly that you can call MotoLimo and ask for a tow, which would then be covered by your CAA membership. At least that's what I get from it, but I'm not the smartest guy on the block.

I have CAA Plus and have used it once or twice to have my unlicensed bikes moved from one place to another (I have 6 bikes but only 2 plated and insured). Didn't know that you could work 'around' CAA by calling MotoLimo directly, if that indeed is what the OP is suggesting.
