On Monday, authorities in northern Aceh distributed a notice to government offices and villages informing residents of the proposed law, which would apply to adolescent girls and women. It states that women are not allowed to straddle motorbikes unless it’s an “emergency,” and are not allowed to hold onto the driver.

It's bizarre. I don't know why all these backwards countries seem to regard women as inhuman.

I was alluding to the fact that it might be a pure sausage fest at ALL events. No sexy models to showcase a bike.

I have a friend from those countries. I can't help but tease him how walking the streets here in the summer will feel like watching porn
 
WOW!!! It's sad to see religion actually make laws that are literally so stupid, they don't look at it as safety (women are NOT allowed to put their hands to hang on the driver) but for their own idiotic beliefs...All religions are the root of all evil!

You're aren't likely to find such fine camel cavalry in Indonesia.

You also don't need to go so far as Indonesia to find authorities trying to control women and their behaviour. Misogeny is alive and well and living right here in Canada. Just peruse some of the posts on this forum.

My friend (he's backwards) pointed out that the ratio of female prostitutes to to male prostitutes is a good indicator of what's at the heart of the matter. He said these backwards countries are governed by natures law. Personally I think it's just a coincidence.
