Importing a route on iPhone

I did it! Works with Navigon or Sygic. The iPhone needs to be JAILBROKEN.
Here is the GPX I am using for example https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s...gwUF0SZoymglJ1UXYWMjCmRX46pKJgpqgF18QdNA&dl=1
I will list the instructions to take you from GPX to a route on the iPhone. I use http://www.bikeroutetoaster.com/ to make my gpx.

Sygic:

It HAS to be sygic 11. Sygic 12 just deles the route.

1. Go to http://www.gpsvisualizer.com/convert_input?convert_format=gpx
2. Load your GPX
3. Click on "[+] show advanced options"
4. Reduce the number of points by entering a number in "Max. points per track:" Not sure what works well yet, but remember sygic will have to calculate the route from point to point. You don't want over 50ish points. It's probably better to split the route.
5. Click convert
6. Download the gpx
7. Download ITNConv from http://www.benichou-software.com/
8. Load the GPX in ITNConv and select "Sygic Navigation 11" for "Export file format"
9. Place the itf file in /var/mobile/Applications/Sygic/Library/Backup/sygic/aurares/itinerary

Navigon

1. Go to http://www.gpsvisualizer.com/convert_input?convert_format=gpx
2. Load your GPX
3. Click on "[+] show advanced options"
4. Reduce the number of points by entering 24 "Max. points per track:" It HAS to be 24 or less. Navigon will ignore all points past point 24.
5. Click convert
6. Download the gpx
7. Download ITNConv from http://www.benichou-software.com/
8. Load the GPX in ITNConv and select "Navigon MN 7, iPhone"
9. Place the route file in /var/mobile/Applications/navigon/Documents/storedRoutes

I did not get a chance to test the apps on a long route so don't shoot me if it doesn't work out.

You don't need a jailbroken iPhone - MotionXGPS will do that for your.

Importing waypoints or tracks
There are 3 methods supported for importing GPX files into MotionX-GPS and MotionX-GPS HD.

Use gpsimport@motionx.com

1. From your Mac or PC, email the gpx file to gpsimport@motionx.com

2. Check your email (the same account you used to mail the gpx file) using the iPhone’s native “Mail” application. You should receive a reply from MotionX within a few minutes.

3. Touch the “Select Here” link in the reply. MotionX-GPS will launch automatically and begin the import.

4. Once MotionX-GPS has begun the import, select “Confirm” when prompted.

5. When the import is complete, go to the Tracks page from the main Menu to see your imported track(s) or the Waypoints page to view your imported waypoints.

Send an email with the GPX files attached to the email account you have setup on your iPhone/iPad

Press and hold on a GPX file in the received email and when prompted open with MotionX-GPS or MotionX-GPS HD. The GPX file will be imported into either Menu>Tracks>Import or Menu>Waypoints>Import.

For a large number of GPX files, it’s best to use iTunes Drag & Drop

First launch MotionX-GPS or MotionX-GPS HD on your iPhone/iPad and go to Menu>Setup>iTunes Drag & Drop. Turn iTunes Drag & Drop on.

Connect your iPhone or iPad to your computer, launch iTunes and select your device in the left pane. Select the Apps tab at the top, then scroll down the page until you see the File Sharing section. Select MotionX-GPS or MotionX-GPS HD. Drag the GPX files you’d like to add to MotionX-GPS or MotionX-GPS HD into this window and they will sync immediately to your iPhone or iPad. Drag and Drop is also a great feature for backing up your waypoints and tracks from time to time.

Great app. Cheap. Works.

Yes, but motionx imports it as a track. My way imports the track as a route so voice navigation, re-routing and poi search along the route works.

I always miss turn when I follow tracks in gaia/motionx. If I leave my gps zoomed out to see upcoming turn it's hard to navigate in towns. If I leave it zoomed in I miss turns and I gave to pay too much attention to my gps.

^damn daught is a genius. Importing and following a route worked really well in Sygic. I did not miss a turn in 650km of PA backroads. No need to worry about missing a turn while following a track.
