I want to know how this is a diability:
In March, Servos filed a complaint to the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal alleging "discrimination in employment on the basis of disability."

Servos claims a doctor told him "his employer (Brantford police) had failed in its duty to accommodate his drug-related disability" and there may be grounds for getting his job back or a financial settlement.

Its funny how ppl twist the definition of terms just to accommodate them.

Also, I would love to hear those who are anti-gun and commented that civilians are not responsible and trained enough to carry guns, to comment on this.

Servos told an Ontario court he used cocaine while on duty one night in May 2007. That night he fired four rounds into a van that police cruisers had boxed in.

Two of the shots went through the van's windshield and one of them hit a 15-year-old who was a passenger in the van. The girl was treated for a gunshot wound to her left arm.

Don't you know? addiction is now a disability.

I wonder if i can claim an addiction to chocolate and fresh air to get more breaks at work.

If u are serious that explains alot of ppl parking in disabled spots and walking out very competently.
I should intentionally get myself addicted to something so I can reap some benefits

They gave him three chances. How many do you have to give, before it becomes obvious that someone simply isn't a good fit for the job?

Sure, give him his job back. Then reinstate the Police Services Act charges.

I am serious, it is now considered a disability (hence the lawsuit) and personally I have no problem with a job giving help to an employee to beat an addiction providing that the employee is able to perform their job with minimal disruptions, leave of absences might be in order to straighten things out but there is a limit on this. obviously if this guy was not handling his side arm safely (shooting into a parked van) then he's not able to perform his duties because the drugs are preventing him from having sound judgement. It does make me question how many other cops are dabbling in the drugs to "relieve the high stress" of their jobs... the shifts they work are also a little insane. 12 hour days leave me tired at my regular job, i'd need some sort of stimulant. how many others are "disabled"?

Given that there were 16 charges under the Police Act he would likely be suspended, with or without pay, and then be looking at prison time if convicted. He certainly wouldn't be on patrol, nor would he be sitting a desk.

It's obvious this person needs help. He should be put on paid leave and sent to rehab via his employer. Such terrible mental anguish. Shame on you for your lack of sympathy towards this fellow human being!!

It's blatantly obvious his employer dropped the ball, and not his fault the previous 3 attempts at rehab (they sent him to) didn't take.

Hard to believe they spied on one of their own, and did something about it.
Oh ya - someone from the public ratted him out. Makes the cover up that much more difficult to pull off.

Kidding? Cops have the best drugs! I'd be willing to bet 3/4 of the previously tested and verified coke in evidence lockup (pick a force. any force) has been replaced with icing sugar.
